Sonia Raja, Head of Packaging – Tesco Stores
Sonia Raja is Head of Packaging at Tesco Stores , Britain’s largest grocery retailer. Her focus is to deliver the company’s Courtauld Commitment to reduce its packaging by 25% by 2010 on both own label and branded products and develop Tesco’s Sustainable Packaging Policy. Sonia is chair of the Packaging Design stream on the Cross Industry Packaging Waste Group, as well as co-chair of the ECR Europe / EUROPEN Project on packaging and sustainability.
She has held buying positions with McCormick Europe where she developed Pan-European procurement strategies and Unilever Kenya delivering on waste and cost reduction programmes. Sonia has an MBA from Warwick Business School which involved working with Nestle in Switzerland and a period in the USA. Fluent in several languages she has travelled widely in her business career which originally began with working for a plastics packaging business in Kenya. A qualified ISO 9002 Auditor, she is well placed to understand process controls and other issues facing both her own organisation and its suppliers as they seek to meet environmental concerns.
Giovani De Schampheleire, Designer & Managing Director – Arf & Yes
Giovani de Schampheleire is a well established designer in the packaging industry. He is also Managing Director of Arf & Yes, Edison’s Day and Orbit One providing multi-disciplined design, consultancy and production services with expertise in the design and management of all stages of a project, from proposal to production.
Susan Baldwin, Marketing & Sales Director – SCA Packaging Western Europe
Susan Baldwin graduated in 1976 from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, with a Business degree in Marketing. She has also pursued her PhD in Science. She has extensive international marketing experience in consumer, industrial and healthcare sectors, having worked for Nestle, ICI Plastics, Norske Papers and 2 leading Canadian Biotech companies as Vice President, Business Development.
Susan was first with SCA Packaging from 1994 to 1999 as Marketing Director Europe and now since 2005 as Marketing and Sales Director Western Europe. Her key responsibilities have always included leading both the strategic and operational Marketing activities.
Susan and her team are today focused on developing and implementing World Class Marketing and Sales tools and processes, as well as driving the Innovation for different market segments, customers, geographies, products, and services.
Stephen McAneny, VP Marketing & Sales – SCA Packaging Europe
Stephen McAneny graduated in Political History and Economics from London School of Economics. He joined SCA Packaging in the UK as a Sales Account Manager and moved in 1996 to Budapest, Hungary to head up the Marketing and Sales development for Central Europe. In 2002 he took over the Pan European Team and moved to the SCA Packaging Head Office in Brussels, structured and strengthened the Pan – European team with a strong focus on profitable growth and targeting of key customers in growing segments.
Today, current responsibilities are to build a World Class Marketing & Sales organisation with world class systems, tools and skills coupled to an environment of ongoing learning and continual improvement.
Wim Wouters, Innovation Centre Director – SCA Packaging Europe
Wim Wouters is responsible for the overall Design Strategy at SCA Packaging. Together with a team of European Design Managers he works on innovative packaging concepts for SCA Packaging’s strategic customers in the FMCG and Consumer electronics markets. Wim holds a master’s degree in Product Design.
Before joining SCA Packaging, he has been working as a design consultant in various domains outside the packaging industry.
